We are pleased to host the 22nd edition of P&P (Phonetics and Phonology in German-speaking Countries) on 01./02. October 2026 in Jena!
Abstracts on all phonetic and phonological topics are welcome. We particularly welcome submissions from young researchers. The conference languages are German and English. Abstracts can be written in German or English and should contain the title, author names, text including any graphics, tables and references on a maximum of two pages. Please use the word templatedocx, 27 kb · de provided on our webpage to ensure uniformity.
The call for submissions is now closed, and the acknowledgments—including the presentation format (oral presentation or poster)—have been sent out.

The Bavarian Archive for Speech Signals (BAS) offers researchers easy access to spoken language resources and language technology through its repository (https://clarin.phonetik.uni-muenchen.de/BASRepository/) and, above all, its web services (https://clarin. phonetik.uni-muenchen.de/BASWebServices/), the Bavarian Archive for Speech Signals (BAS) provides researchers with easy access to spoken language resources and speech technology. The repository and services are continuously maintained and further developed—in recent months, several new speech corpora have been added to the repository (including those from the student project “Cat-directed speech”), WebMAUS for automatic phonetic segmentation has been updated, and two new web-based tools have been added: TranscriptionPortal for automatic orthographic speech recognition, and Octra Backend for managing transcription projects, specifically designed to meet high privacy protection requirements.
The tutorial provides an overview of the current resources at BAS, introduces the new developments, and offers tips on how to make effective use of the web services. We’d also be happy to conduct hands-on exercises using your own data!
The conference will take place at TRAFO JenaExternal link(a historic power plant and cultural center, Nollendorfer Str. 30, 07743 Jena).
