  • What does the practical module consist of?

The practical module consists of the seminar "The Cultural Studies Internship" (2 SWS) and the internship itself (at least 6 weeks).

  • When do I have to complete an internship?

Completing an internship is compulsory in the Bachelor's programme, but not compulsory in the Master's programme.

  • Where can I do an internship?

The internship should be carried out in a subject area relevant to your studies in order to maximise the added value in terms of your further studies as well as the application of what you have learned and gaining new experience. Therefore, please discuss the choice of internship in advance!

Looking for inspiration? Here you will find a list of possible internship partners.

You can find further links to general institutions and job exchanges that are also helpful for finding an internship here.

  • How do I get an internship?

The choice of internship location is organised independently by the student. The internship must be approved by the institute at least one month before the start of the internship and all data must be recorded in writing on the registration form.

Please complete the registration form for the internship agreementExternal link in triplicate: one copy is for your records, one copy is for the internship provider and one copy remains in the Administrative Assistant's office.

  • How can I register for the examination?

Exam registration is no longer necessary for the individual parts of the practical module. Once all parts of the module have been completed, you bring the written certificates to the institute (confirmation of participation in the seminar "The Cultural Studies Internship", internship certificate, internship report). There you will receive a form confirming the successful completion of the practical module, which you can then submit to the ASPA.

The report is not graded, but is assessed as pass/fail, so that the module is also only assessed as pass/fail.

  • How do I write an internship report?

You can find some guidelines for writing the report here: Internship report de.

In the seminar "The Cultural Studies Internship" you will also have the opportunity to ask further questions about the report.

  • Which forms are important?

The registration form and a sample template for the internship contract can be found here under Forms de.
