Image: Institut für Slawistik und Kaukasusstudien

The photographic exhibition shows a fascinating region in which Antiquity and Middle Ages, Orthodoxy and Catholicism, Islam and Judaism spawn symbiotic as well as conflict societies for centuries. In the past: venue for the fight of different great powers that broadened their sphere of influence here; today: a geographic and political space full of profound and rapid changes.

The exhibition is organised by teachers and students of the interdisciplinary course of study "Southeastern European Studies" at the Friedrich Schiller Univeristy Jena. There are people, villages, towns and landscapes in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Croatia, Montenegro, Northmacedonia, Romania and Serbia to be seen.

Delve into a multifaceted, interesting and enchanting world that offers something for every taste and let Yourself be surprised by it!

The exhibition is to be seen in the campus foyer of the university (Carl-zeiß-Straße 3)!
